The Multilayer World In A Nutshell

MLC (Multi-Layer Composite) pipes

Polyethylene inner and outer layers are bonded to a welded aluminium core using adhesive layers of Yparex. MLC’s have following advantages:

  • 100% diffusion tight
  • the thermal expansion of aluminium
  • excellent long-term strength
  • fully corrosion resistant
  • can be coloured for tracking purposes
  • lightweight
  • can be stored on reels
  • fast installation
  • can be used for heating, drinking water, air, chemicals.

Yparex resins are based on polyethylene resins which are chemically modified.
This results in adhesion towards all polyethylene types (PEX, LLDPE, LDPE, HDPE, PE-RT), and also towards materials containing functional groups like polar thermoplastics (PA and EVOH) and metals (aluminium, steel and copper). Yparex resins can be processed like ordinary polyethylene resins at melt temperatures between 210 – 280°C.
